It gives me profound joy and humility to welcome you to the Rotary eClub of Global Connect (District 9126). Our club represents the forefront of modern Rotary service — bridging distances, leveraging digital innovation, and uniting leaders with a singular purpose: Service Above Self.

Whether you are a busy executive, an overseas professional in the diaspora, a traveler, or someone passionate about making a difference from your home or office, our e-club is designed to give you a dynamic platform to serve, lead, and grow.
Together with our dedicated Board of Directors and members, we are committed to impactful projects across all 7 Rotary Areas of Focus — from community healthcare to literacy, clean water, and youth empowerment.

History of the Rotary E-Club
The Historic 2010 Decision
The Council on Legislation, the worldwide legislative body for Rotary International, officially voted to make E-Clubs a permanent part of Rotary on April 26, 2010. The landmark measure was approved by an overwhelming vote of 430 to 85. The successful six-year E-Club pilot program concluded on June 30, 2010, and effective July 1, 2010, Rotary E-Clubs worldwide were permitted to form and become fully chartered.
A Rotary E-Club is simply defined as a virtual Rotary Club that conducts its meetings, service project planning, and networking activities online. The very first Rotary E-Club formed was the Rotary eClub One (District 5450, USA), sponsored by the Rotary Club of Boulder, Colorado, chartered in 2002.
The advent of e-clubs has opened up a world of opportunities for Rotarians to connect, engage, and collaborate on a global scale. Through digital technology, geographical barriers are eliminated, bringing together members from all corners of the world to work toward the common goal of Service Above Self. Today, eight dynamic E-Clubs operate across Nigeria.
Rotary E-Clubs in Nigeria
Rotary E-Clubs have experienced rapid growth across Nigerian districts, attracting high-caliber tech innovators, medical professionals, international civil servants, and diaspora leaders who need flexible yet profound community service engagement.
Basic Features of an E-Club
- Apply for Provisional Club Status through Rotary International.
- Requires twenty (20) Charter Members to become fully chartered.
- Meets online electronically, or via a hybrid combination of online and in-person meetings.
- Conducts impactful service projects and fundraising to support causes.
- Operates under the exact same responsibilities, governance, and rules as standard clubs.
- Promotes and financially supports The Rotary Foundation.
- Ideal for young professionals, people with disabilities, frequent travelers, and dual residents.

Empowering children, teenagers, and young adults from age 7 to 30 through service, leadership, and global fellowship.
INTERACT
International Action for Youth
Interact was launched by the RI Board of Directors in 1962. The first Interact club was established by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida. Interact clubs provide opportunities for secondary school students to work together in a world fellowship of service and international understanding.
Key Objectives & Highlights:
- Derived from 'inter' (international) and 'act' (action)
- Sponsored and mentored directly by Rotary clubs
- Plans annual projects of service to school, community, and the world
- Develops leadership skills and practical project experience
- Creates global goodwill and friendship among youth worldwide
ROTARACT
Fellowship Through Service
After the success of Interact clubs in the early 1960s, the RI Board created Rotaract in 1968. Designed to promote responsible citizenship and leadership potential in young men and women aged 18 and above, emphasizing personal success and community involvement.
Key Objectives & Highlights:
- Built around the inspiring motto: 'Fellowship Through Service'
- Promotes high ethical standards in business and professional life
- Fosters international understanding, networking, and peace
- Executes impactful grassroots and humanitarian community projects
- Dynamic social activities and professional mentorship
ROTAKIDS
Serving Play & Character Formation
RotaKids is a fun and exciting way for children aged 7–12 to make friends and get involved with important community activities, all while having a great time in the process with the philosophy of 'Serving Play'.
Key Objectives & Highlights:
- Stimulates core values: dignity, respect, and character formation
- Supports children to organize in groups and exercise early leadership
- Based in schools, youth groups, or community centres
- Supported by teachers, youth leaders, and the local Rotary club
- Supports the citizenship and moral education curriculum
RYLA
Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership training program coordinated by Rotary Clubs and Districts across the globe. Each year, thousands of young people ages 14–30 are sponsored by Rotary to attend district-run leadership camps and workshops.
Key Objectives & Highlights:
- Fully sponsored: Rotary clubs and districts cover all participant expenses
- Intensive seminars, experiential camps, and hands-on workshops
- Curriculum focused on team dynamics, problem-solving, and ethics
- Participants chosen for outstanding leadership potential
- Mentorship from seasoned Rotarians, executives, and civic leaders

For generations, Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self has been channeled through the five Avenues of Service forming the foundation of all club activity.
Club Service
Focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning and administrative excellence of the club.
Vocational Service
Encourages Rotarians to serve others through their professions and maintain the highest ethical standards. Spotlights projects during Vocational Service Month.
Community Service
Covers the projects and grassroots activities the club undertakes to improve the quality of life in local communities across Nigeria.
International Service
Expands Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe, partnering with international clubs, sponsoring cross-border initiatives, and promoting peace.
Youth Service
Empowers youth and young professionals through RotaKids, Interact, Rotaract, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), and Rotary Youth Exchange.

Peace & Conflict Prevention / Resolution
